Team Of The Season Case Study

Overview 

We recently worked with EA Sports and SportFIVE to produce a series of videos working with their ‘Team of the Season campaign’ - PL TOTS. The campaign took us throughout the country filming at Chelsea FC, Tottenham FC, Manchester City FC and Liverpool FC.


Over the course of the campaign we had 4 shoots, 18 crew members, 23 cameras, produced 44+ deliverables and drank… lots of coffee!

Objectives 

Each club had various challenges, games and key content to capture with the players in a window of 45-60 Minutes, this included….


Statman Quiz 

We challenged players to a game of FIFA 23, and fired questions at them throughout both halves to up the pressure. Get a question wrong, the players will have to complete a FIFA forfeit for a set amount of time.


EA SPORTS it’s in the game

We ask the three players to take on the ‘EA SPORTS it’s in the game’ voiceover challenge (or an alternative if there will be one for EAFC) which was bound to yield some funny results. 


Lines to Camera 

The talent was to deliver lines to camera ahead of the FC announcement in July. Set in a natural THFC environment, we’d ask the players to be super relaxed when delivering. 

Outputs 

We delivered over 44+ edits within 10 days. The response was amazing. Chelsea had the most viewed video from the ‘EA SPORTS it’s in the game challenge’ which went viral surpassing over 20 million views in its first week online and was shared across multiple channels and publishers including SPORTSBible.(check out the blog here) 


To achieve a consistency and style throughout the campaign we ensured we worked with our trusted crew and filmed with our selection of Sony Cameras (FX9, FX6 and FX3 Line for those camera nerds) to achieve a high output standard. 


The project has been a huge success with our client and one our whole team have loved working on.
