When a video goes viral!

Why and how does a video go viral? A TikTok we produced for Chelsea FC did just that, here’s how and why. It’s hard to know when something will go viral however when we shot this we knew there was something special in it.

We recently worked with EA Sports and Chelsea FC on a social content series. The series 'PL Team of the Season' sees a number of players answer questions on their team mates. A fun and relaxed environment encouraged the players, Felix, Madueke and Broja to have a laugh with team mates and their answers. This video, when pushed out on the clubs social channels, had a great reach and response, however it was the further outtakes that really hit the mark…

To finish off the days filming with the players, they were asked to say a few lines to camera. Reading out the famous EA Sports tag line. A globally recognised brand message, said by millions.

‘EA Sports - It’s in the game’…..

Simple you may think, a brand message read out by the players. Little did we know it would end up reaching over 20+ Millions views, comments from the likes of John Terry, Chelsea FC commenting ‘iconic’, shared on SPORTbible and a bold statement from Chelsea as there ‘best ever TikTok’! Of course it was our brilliant camera techniques ;) …. No, on this occasion the star of the show goes to João Félix. We’ll let the video do the talking and try not to laugh!


Unscripted, unrehearsed content….the thing of nightmares right? Not anymore. It gives the viewer real life, relatable, lighthearted content. Content to share, comment and simply have a few minutes of laughter too, we all need that don’t we?


It’s hard to know when something will go viral however when we shot this we knew there was something special in it. It’s not always going to happen but when it does it really shows the power of content.
